Understanding the World Economy
To be able to comprehend the current social, economic, and political processes, one should place them in a broad spatial context. The changes that have taken place in recent decades in all areas of activity, driven by the processes of globalisation on and regionalisation on, have generated unprecedented challenges for those involved in social, economic and political developments. By addressing the themes of development and underdevelopment, demography, the economy with its three sectors, as well as the issues of raw materials and energy, trade, and geopolitics, the authors sincerely hope that this publication will familiarise readers with the contemporary world and the direction in which it is heading, will encourage them to make constant critical observations of the reality around us, and will provoke them into discussions on what this world of ours should be like.
